Just One of those Nights

My father strolled into the room, and sat down next to me, on our favourite leather couch. Always the kind of man who’s able to make me smile – even when he’s upset – my father is quiet, tall, and according to our neighbours, and, of course, my mother, very handsome. Gray has been invading his dark, curly hair for about a year now. It’s also been intruding into his beard, which he grew himself to save time, or so he tells me. Not Long At All - Twelve We crawled along the trail, silently, inconspicuous to the men who hunted for us, to kill us, no doubt, and we couldn’t very well stop now. Too far along. The undergrowth scratched at my arms, exposed and bare, save for the light cotton tunic I had salvaged from the wreck. Black and Blue Stepping into the warm stream of water, I felt the cold that had chilled me to the bone, immediately come away, and watched for a moment while the dirt between my toes ran down the drain. Within a matter of seconds, the shower door was covered in misty condensation. The autumn air was becoming quickly very chilly, and the cold that was just a few moments ago, biting at my nose, had vanished. The water lapped over my face, my legs, my back. My arms were sliding in and out of the water, graceful, but quickly. The constant pattern drummed into my head, I started singing to myself, since I couldn’t stand having silence, even under the water. I had to get this warm-up finished with. Ski Trip!

_{Alrighty, so, today, I woke up at 5:00 a.m. this morning, to get to school for 6:00, for a ski trip to Mt. St. Louis/Moonstone. I got to school fine, albeit a bit slow because of the conditions of the roads, but fine. I then waited for about half an hour, only to find out that, because of the state of the roads, the school board decided to nix plans. We waited for another 45 minutes, in the blasted cold, for our principal to get to school, and phone the super-intendant, to see if he would at all reconsider. The SI, however, did not, and so, we all ended up freezing our asses off waiting for any updates on whether we were going or not. So, we all ended up going home for the day, in all our flustered and perturbed states of mind. It doesn't seem very right to me, that if the busses could get down to our school, why couldn't they get to the slopes? I realize that it may have been a bit slippery, but most of the roads had been salted before sunrise anyway. Bugs the bejeebers out of me.

Anyways, they did reschedule the trip, for tomorrow, so I will be getting up at 5:00 again, tomorrow morning. So, I'm rather excited for that. Still rather angry, and kinda tired, but excited. I can sleep on the bus, if I feel like it. The waking up early, I don't mind, it's if I get to school, only to find out that it's been post-poned again! that bugs me.}
